Alright Guys who have tagged me. I could not keep up so I thought I would post it on one post. I apologize that it took forever but I could not work the scanner and my kids have had the stomach virus. Yep all three of them. So here it is



First Tag is About Me and Trent, our Love Story :)

Look How Young (and skinny)

Where we met? At a FHE at our church. We were both late and everyone had finished pairing up so I got paired up with his roommate that was also late and Trent got paired with another gal. We both saw each other though.
First thing we said? Hi I guess.
First date? We never really dated just hung out. Our first hang out was with my friend and his roommate. They needed some others to join them when they went 4-wheeling. I got paired with Trent. We had a great time.
First kiss? At his apartment after watching a movie. We went out to my car and he leaned in… and missed, yep he kissed the corner of my mouth almost on my cheek. He tried again and made it that time. We have been kissin’ ever since!!
Where engaged? At the mouth of Logan Canyon, at a park by the Hydro Plant.
Where married? On Feb. 26 2000 in the Logan Temple. It snowed that day but it still was a great day.
Where honeymooned? Our first night was at the Old Rock church and then the next day we went to a place up the Ogden Canyon called the Alaskan Inn. We didn’t really have any plans so on our way home we stopped off at the Golden Spike because we had both never been there. We were the only tourists that day. We then took a trip 2 weeks later to the Oregon coast and stayed in a beach house there.

7 Random Thoughts


1. How does our scanner work. 2. What will I say when I teach Relief Society tomorrow. 3. What do we do with sick Makenzie and squirmy Tait while I am teaching at the same time Trent is teaching tomorrow. 4. What is there to make for dinner. (Or what will Trent make for dinner;) 5. I need to go grocery shopping. 6. Colton needs a bath, and to brush his teeth. 7. I think Trent needs a kiss.

___ Needs


I received a tag that is kind of interesting and funny. You put your name and those of your family into the google search followed by “needs” and see what comes up. The first two things on my name were inappropriate so I’ll skip to the next ones. For the sake of time and privacy I just did my name and Trent’s.

Megan needs___
… a very quiet home in a place with few or no thunder storms and lots of sunshine.
… a summer intern (they are going to be put to work on the laundry)
… to sleep. After 3 nights of none, you bet
… a more comfortable chair as the little stool she is sitting on looks very hard


Trent needs___
… funding fix’
… to wake up and smell the coffee…and fire his agent.
… no game ball. He actually would love the game ball if his team had won the championship in City League
… to stay. BYU will enjoy your services for another year. That is just too funny and ironic

Think that covers it. I could actually use a bigger purse to fit a book and snacks for the movie theater, but Trent says no.

Cabela's

Two weeks ago the kids and I (Trent) went down to my Grandma’s 86th birthday. It is my Grandma on my Mom’s side. The kids really haven’t had a chance to see them much so we went even though Megan had to work. It was quite fun. On the way home we were debating whether to stop at Cabela’s or not. It was getting late, about 6pm and just as we approached the exit for Cabela’s the traffic was stopping. There was a car accident just past the exit and traffic had come to a stop. That made up our minds and we headed off to Cabela’s. We had Janell, my sister, and her son Steven with us and we all were excited to stop. We wanted to see the big fish tanks and what was cool is that we made it in time to see them feed the fish. You can’t really see the feeding in the pictures but almost every fish was in the center at that time. It was quite fun to watch and see. The kids loved the animals and fish.

My favorite is when we went to the Africa exhibit, we pulled up and Colton goes, “Look dad, a Kudu.” A Kudu is the largest animal in the antelope family. They have long twirled horns and they look pretty cool. People around us were looking at him like how does he know what that animal is. Then Makenzie points over to another animal and says, “Dad, look over there, there is an Impala.” An Impala is another animal in the antelope family but not as big as the Kudu. I am proud of my little munchkins and knowledge of animals. By the way, they know their Africa animals because they are on my Africa Safari hunting game that they like to play with me.

It was quite cool also to walk around conservation mountain where they have all types of mounted animals and Makenzie and Colton where just naming them off. A polar bear, skunk, fox, raccoon, deer, elk, moose, mountain goats. They needed some help on some but they got most of them right. We had a blast looking at everything and even Tait was staring at the animals. We will for sure be visiting again, until then, enjoy the pictures.

Future Photographer?

Colton likes to sneak our camera and even my phone as I have just found out. I was looking through the pictures on my phone and this is what I found. He is going to be a great photographer some day. Just so you know when he is famous you saw his first works of art here on our blog. We will have to post the ones from our home camera later.

Shopping Secrets

We know everyone loves to shop, especially with three kids. Our secret to make them behave is when we go to Wal-Mart, our first stop is at the deli section to get some popcorn chicken. This way it keeps the kids occupied and not hungry. Here are some pictures of us shopping the other week. Pictures from a cell phone but hey, they turned out okay.

Spring is almost here!!

I am just so excited to start working in my yard. (Or boss Trent around while he works in the yard) :) I lay awake at night dreaming about what flowers I am going to plant and where they are going to go. I think about what bushes I should use and the pots that will go on the back deck. You could say that I am a little obsessed about it, but that is my favorite thing to do outdoors. Here are some cute Crocus' that are coming up in the front yard. I still need to get some bulbs in and pick up some spireas from the nursury and..... ;)

February Fun!

February is finally over and we have had a lot of snow this year. We attempted to build a snowman back in January but the snow was too deep and cold to really get the snow rolling up for a snowman. February has warmed up and has made the conditions of making a snowman better. The other day we finally got back out into the back yard and built a good snowman. Here are some pictures from that day. Megan was inside with Tait but we got a picture of them watching us too. Since most of the pictures are featuring Colton and Makenzie we posted some of Tait to show how he is growing. Colton Makes me Laugh!

Colton is quite the funny little man. He makes Megan and I laugh a lot by what he says and does. I have to share this story with you. I have a new phone the Blackberry pearl. See picture at left. It does have quite a large screen to look at stuff and very colorful. Kids love to play with things like this.






Anyways, the other day Colton was down beside my bed kind of hiding. I look over at him and see that he is doing something. So I ask, Colton, what are you doing? With a grin on his face he turns to me and says, “I am looking on my GPS”. I guess his pilot skills are really kicking in. He loves airplanes and now he is learning how to navigate on a Global Positioning system. Just the fact that he knew what one was blew me away.



Come to find out, he had just watched a Diego (Dora’s cousin) show and he uses a GPS to find the animals that are lost. My phone does have maps on it so I showed him where to go and look at the maps and he loves it. I get home now and he will say, Dad can I use your GPS and maps.

No Luck :(

Just thought I would update you all on how our week finished out. Recap: Makenzie was sick from Sunday Feb 24th for three days. She felt fine and went to school on Thursday but fell ill again enough to stay home on Friday. Saturday she was good to go and has been her old self again. Tait was sick from Monday to Friday and missed going to the baby sitter because of it. He just couldn’t sleep very well and was just a mucus factory while his ear infections took him out. He is doing better but still is acting a little strange and finally slept through the night last night.

Update: Colton didn’t escape the sickness. He got sick Wednesday night and was out and down Thursday and part of Friday. The good thing is that it did not get him as bad as Makenzie while his temp only reached about 101. He was better by Saturday and running around the house.

Low and behold, Megan got sick on Wednesday and it too knocked her out with a high fever, chills, sinus congestion and coughing. She had no energy and I even came home early on Thursday to help with the kids. I am glad I was able to come home and help out as she was really feeling sick. She missed work on Friday while she recovered. Saturday she felt good enough to go to work but still was not 100% (What a Trooper). She is still trying to recover to that 100% even today. To make matters worse, I thought I had escaped this entirely but, oh no, that couldn’t happen. Friday night I started getting sinus congestion. Saturday I had the same thing Megan had but just didn’t have the high fever. I was light headed, congested, no energy, chills and consistent coughing. I was out Sunday also while I tried to recover. Monday I felt good enough to go back to work. I still have a cough and stuffy nose but am feeling better. Megan and I feel like we have been beat up because our backs and chest are sore from all the coughing we have been doing and feel worn out. We need a weekend before the weekend.

We are just happy that the end is in sight and that was one week we don’t want to have to do repeat. We hope all of you and your family’s stay away from the sick bug. It is not fun.
