Holiday Celebrations

Well I have to say that Trent and I kept very busy this Christmas season. We started out Christmas vacation with Christmas Eve at my parent's house. We have a tradition where we do a soup and bread bowl dinner with a potato bar added. We watch the video of Christ's birth and then my mom reads a Christmas book to the children after they have changed into their Christmas jammies. It is a great evening for family and tradition.

On a sad note we also lost my grandma that night. We loved her so much and will greatly miss her but we know that she has moved on to loved ones who were waiting for her with open arms.

Trent and I also loved being in our new home for Christmas. We loved having Santa gifts around our tree and starting our own traditions with the kids. On Christmas day we woke up the kids (I know most kids are the ones getting their parents up on Christmas) and opened Santa gifts then we opened a couple from each other before heading over to my parents for breakfast. Following a yummy breakfast we opened gifts then headed back to our homes for a very restful afternoon and evening.

Wednesday included some sledding and dinner at our house with my parents and sister's family. Friday was back to work but fun that evening when we caught up with friends and old neighbors at a party. Saturday was filled with more family as we said goodbye to grandma. We heard some great memories and a little more about her life with grandpa, my aunts and mom. It was nice to be with cousins and aunts also. After the funeral we drove to Richfield and enjoyed more festivities of games, food and family. We spent New Year's Eve with Trent's parents and family where we also celebrated a belated Christmas. After heading home we then had some more friends for dinner with more games. (anyone who knows my husband knows he LOVES games so come and join us anytime).

With the start of the New Year we finally feel like things are getting back to normal. We love the parties and friends but really love being with our kids at home also. We hope everyone enjoyed the holiday!!

We're in for the games, too!

I love the holidays just like you, but I am always ready to get back to normal life.

Miss you guys, can't wait to see you again!
